SERMON NOTES

"A New Vision" - Pastor Harry Edenhofer

A New Vision

Main Scriptures – Acts 8, 9

I. Vision empowers!        Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good

works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

II. Vision exemplified

   A. The early years – Paull know as Saul

“I, Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with

the killing of Stephen.”....“ Saul was going everywhere to

destroy the church.”  Acts 8:1-3, Acts 9:1-2

    B. Sauls conversion

       1. Acts 9:3-9 – Jesus speaks to Saul

       2. Acts 9:10-16 – Jesus talks to Ananias

III. Vision explained

     A. Vision doesn’t always make sense or feel safe

     B. Vision is made complete by obedience.

          Acts 9:17, John 10:10

     C. Vision returns more than it costs.

          Acts 9:18 – 22

IV. Vision applied

      A. What is God’s vision for your life?

      B. Pauls testimony –

1 Timothy 1:13-14 NLT “Even though I was once a blasphemer

and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy

because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our

Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith

and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

       C. Your act of obedience may not make sense, it may not be safe,

but if you’ll trust God, what you reap will far exceed what you

           could have imagined.
